RIP- Homey's Cafe

A posthumous tribute to the greatest restaurant in Legaspi Village that never was…

Oh Homey!, oh homey! where art thou oh homey?(with apologies to Bill S.)

It has been about 6 months since Homey's Cafe hastily departed the village scene. 


While there have  been a lot of pretenders who have tried to ascend the "Lutong Bahay"  (filipino home cooked) throne none have come close to achieving the same heights. 

Homey's Cafe was the village's greatest secret. Students, the working class and  village middle class residents have quietly kept this nondescript lunchroom hidden from the rest of the world for years.  Lest word of its success spread and drive up the prices and much valued lunchtime seating.  

Sadly the restaurant has closed up without even a quiet goodbye. You are very much missed and the village needs you.

To the pretenders don't quit your day job.  

Would the real Lutong Bahay (filipino home cooked meal) King please stand up!
